Potamkin Hyundai dealerships have contributed more than $4 million to the program since 1998

SACRAMENTO, Calif., Sept. 18, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — NorCal Auto Group, a Potamkin Automotive Group company operating three Hyundai dealerships in the Sacramento region, deepened its support of Hyundai Hope on Wheels this year through a series of events and donations benefiting pediatric cancer research and care in Northern California.

On September 9, NorCal Auto Group attended the Hyundai Hope on Wheels check presentation at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in San Francisco, hosted by Hyundai Motor America. The event recognized Hyundai’s continued commitment to supporting pediatric cancer research and care, and celebrated the impact made possible through the generosity and partnership of its dealer community.

Earlier this year, the group’s three stores — Roseville Hyundai, Folsom Lake Hyundai and Elk Grove Hyundai — contributed $50,000 directly to UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center. Hyundai Hope on Wheels matched the gift, bringing the total donation to $100,000. The dealerships marked the contribution with a check presentation they organized at a Sacramento Republic FC match on Saturday, May 2^nd.

In July, NorCal Auto Group took part in the Sacramento Handprint Ceremony at UC Davis, where children being treated for cancer place their painted handprints on a Hyundai vehicle — the program’s signature symbol of hope and resilience.

Hyundai Hope on Wheels is one of the largest corporate funders of childhood cancer research in the United States. Supported by Hyundai Motor America and more than 855 dealers, the organization has directed over $300 million to pediatric cancer research since 1998, helping improve outcomes for more than 40,000 children. A child is diagnosed with cancer every 36 minutes.

The 2026 effort comes as Hyundai Motor America launches The Mark of a Warrior, a national campaign supporting Hyundai Hope on Wheels that reimagines the program’s handprint symbol as an emblem of strength and resilience. Through September and beyond, the organization is holding roughly 42 handprint ceremonies, check presentations and Warrior Gown deliveries, along with more than 100 community blood drives.

Potamkin’s Hyundai dealerships have supported the program since its founding year, contributing more than $4 million to Hyundai Hope on Wheels since 1998. That support is part of a broader philanthropic commitment carried across three generations of the Potamkin family, spanning science, wellbeing, arts and culture, education and the environment.
